Eskom must make up for all the guys off the grid!
the difference will always be made up from the leftover payers and when that is not sufficient, we will ALL pay via additional bailouts. Those who run their own business and not beholden to corporate paychecks can/will receive the most benefit from potentially reducing PAYE type deductions.

Check out this old thread:
You’ve done the math. Show me your calculations.

That thread predates Noah and it doesn’t answer my question.

I am so glad we have a small inverter and PV arrays which will be even better when the LA batteries get replaced with LFP's  We also use gas for heating water and some cooking with have a wood fire place and small gas heater for winter, I just need to get the rest of the roof insulated properly.

Also happy to be reliant on Eskom for very little. Solar, gas, and two fireplaces makes for virtually no additional electrical usage in winter.

Now if Mr Powerforum could just do my documentation for the battery allocation I can get mostly off the grid.

Learn how to march and toi toi guys and gals,it's the right thing to do.
NB you also need to learn how to burn and loot

Eskom is much easier. All we have to do is all switch off our DB's at the same time and then back on 20min later. Will send a pretty strong message.

Indeed, and if done precisely at the same time country wide it can take down the grid I am sure. But no... saffas don't stick together...

So Eskom... where do you c*nts think I will get the money from to pay 20% more.
You already charge me R3k / month for the most expensive electricity in the world.

So read this carefully...

GO **** YOURSELF, ESKOM
DE RUYTER, GAN FOK JOU TANNIE
Wow,what's de Ruyter done wrong,he's only been in charge for the last couple of years.
You need to blame those that came before him.
You reckon he can fix years of fck ups in a couple of years.
That's asking a bit much??

And this my friends is the exact downward spiral in usage thats being off set with upwards trend in pricing I mentioned over 2 years ago that will become the norm leading Eskom to end up with 1 client paying the entire Eskom yearly revenue.

With 20% increase, people will be forced to reduce their usage by 20% which in turn would generate the same or less revenue for Eskom and then the next price hike will be another 20%, rinse repeat.

There is no way out of this spiral if Eskom keeps at this. Pricing will simply keep going up at the rate of users reducing their electricity usage.

Didn't we just have a 14% increase?
No, we had 15.6% increase

Yeh this seems to be what is happening, when they increased by 15.6%, then most people probably couldn't afford to use the same amount of electricity as before, so in turn start using 15% less electricity. Higher prices doesn't equate to more income for Eskom, they need to find a balance somewhere.
