That de Ruyter really is doing an excellent job. Better than any of his predecessors. 20.5% is absolutely reasonable.

somebody has to pay for the incompetence and corruption at eskom, and guess who that is?
somebody has to pay for all those 50K lightbulbs they brought for R20 at PNP yet charged the taxpayer R49980

y'all voted for them, y'all wanted them, the ANC only knows how to steal forget about them building a country, that's too much to ask.

Eskom have the country over a barrel and they know it.

Unfortunately for them this may just be the incentive businesses may need to switch over to solar.

And other businesses that cannot afford electricity anymore, will either have to close shop, or migrate to cheaper electricity or something else.

It just is not sustainable increasing prices, this have the ripple effect on food prices as well.

The quicker Eskom is allowed to ask what they like the better the market needs to sort this out. A 40 percent increase would be good as most people will use less and or make alternative arrangements.

These morons are going to kill our economy.

High time they do something about their bloated and overpaid workforce.
You can milk the middle class but you are not allowed to touch the 'worker' class.

In the REIPPPP 6, the cost to Eskom of IPP electricity was less than the cost of the raw coal that eskom feeds into the power station.
The cheapest solar was 37.5c/kWh cheapest wind was 34.4c/kWh.
Still need to add storage - which would increase the the cost - not sure how much but probably double.
The good thing with IPP is that not funded by Eskom/Taxpayer.
Not quite, but close. Coal is around 26c/kWh ave. Nuclear fuel around 8c.

Also happy to be reliant on Eskom for very little. Solar, gas, and two fireplaces makes for virtually no additional electrical usage in winter.

Now if Mr Powerforum could just do my documentation for the battery allocation I can get mostly off the grid.

Yep, ordinarily we have no increase in winter consumption but with our son that changed as we run a wall panel heater in his room, temperatures can get in to the negative where we live.

We are also waiting for Mr Powerforum for LFP batteries to replace the LA's
