Eskom is falling apart

Eskom has no money for spares to fix power stations, breakdowns are at an all-time high, its energy availability factor (EAF) is the worst in history, and staff morale has hit rock bottom.

Energy analyst Mike Rossouw said 2021 had been the worst year ever regarding Eskom’s power plant availability.
 
Still amazes me how they can still steal hundreds of millions of rands.

You'd think that everything would be audit and accounted for now.

I guess it's just easier to ask the public for more money than to actually be accountable.

GFY you money gobbling pieces of sheite, you created this mess it was working fine (nay, most respected company in Africa!) before you lot got rid of the people who had pride in themselves, and took over in the name of transformation.

Go read that article about imminent grid collapse & tell me you're confident that it was just an over exaggeration..

The worst is that it's not just Eskom, every single SOE that has been taken over has been systematically driven into the ground.
 
At this stage we only really have two options:

1.) Get used to it. It will probably only get worse, and SA will end up like the rest of the continent where having power is the exception. Even if you are operating totally off the grid, this will still affect you in significant ways.

2.) Remove yourself and your family from the situation by emigrating.

The taxpayers paying for all this are at rock bottom as well
 
Blah. My ANC woes are local. Seems it's gonna be a few days no electricity.

dont know what some who cant leave in a hurry will do in the future?
Tell their grandkids there was this magical force called electricity once.
and water came from a tap, and there were these things called roads

I mean look at the rest of Africa, a sh1tp1le of note.
 
If the 1000's articles recently didn't suggest it to you yet

Eskom is sinking ship, and has R300 billion rand debt plunging it and the country into darkness.
