Eskom has recovered enough generating capacity to end load-shedding early

I suppose they want us to thank them. Fkn pricks.
of course, thanks to their glorious incompetence we somehow still have electricity,
they tried so hard to destroy it, but it still keeps on going, like the Duracell Bunny on Nyope

Boggles my mind as well - after more than a decade of LS people still fail to understand the system and then rant on SM.

I seem to recall the duration and frequency for load shedding had changed during the decade.

Various muncipalities have changed the hours here or there, frequency would tie into that I guess. But up until February 2021 any City Power customer was under 4 hours a session where stage 2 would give 1 to 2 sessions a day.

Some minds are easily boggled, others refuse to submit and subscribe to their way of thinking lest they become like them.

Then again I'm very seldom loadshat, must be my privilege kicking in or something..

“Eskom, therefore, requests the assistance of all South Africans to continue using electricity sparingly.”
How do you even do that? I pay for what I use, go bother the ones that don't pay, the only time I use less is if you cut my power, else I'm just carrying on as normal and assume everyone else does too..

Getting close, my guess is they have enough diesel for tonight and maybe tomorow and hope some units start working pretty soon.

The last time there was a 17.00 and 19.00 power alert warning we had a week of load shedding!
Sigh yes but they also didn't send the green at 9pm as they were hitting the red actually from 3pm but they only sent the warning from 5pm. As bad as this looks, it's nothing compared to last Monday. They also did say Monday and Tuesday will be tight Screenshot_20220314_194405_com.android.chrome.jpg

I am still mad about Friday, though not necessarily due to Eskom's incompetence. To get back OT, same old, this will be repeated many more times with many more loadsheddings in-between.

Today the grid looks really bad. That is not good at all seeing red from 1pm and no real recovery.

Hopefully this type of thing is motivation for people to start ditching Eskom. Already got my parents on board, as well as one neighbour who kept peeping into my yard every time their power went off...
He might be just checking you out.

Yup they did, may still have them but will need to see as poweralert has been wrong sometimes, like a few weeks ago where we got red alerts from 5pm but the generation was in the 30s.
Even looking at their data portal is BS

I mean according to this the nuclear generation is 1800? Which isn't possible as Koeberg is still down, and apparently our thermal generation is over 40k? Which also isn't possible as we only have 37GW installed?
