Where do you take your readings?
Straight from CIU
Where do you take your readings?
I will sound stupid when I ask, but at least it will only be for a short while.Straight from CIU

What is CIU?
Yeah, so no way for me to read my meter. It's in a kiosk in the street. Postpaid.Customer interface unit - mirrors the display on the actual meter. Old school meters would need to be read directly from the meter.

If only they would work as hard as they steal. It never ceases to amaze me the level of effort and "ingenuity" these people put into theft and crime in general, yet are completely unable to put a corresponding level of effort into doing good /productive things.
It almost seems like they're programmed or hardwired to be so.
Sorry, I should have said:if there is, it's a borrowed word.
We are never going to win against the born thieves and liars that is the cANCer. They have infected to much and as you know it is difficult to remove anything that is infected with to much cANCer. It will just keep spreadingBorn to thieve!
Watch them back pedal now and tell us prepaid is going but smart meters are staying.
Eskom direct's new billing structure for postpaid, while screwing us over because of newly dreamed up built-in fees, has actually stopped them from pulling one of their favourite tricks that would drive me up the wall - with the reason being that they did away with their consumption-based tier system.
They would short bill just a little bit for like 6 consecutive months - just short enough to not be noticeable unless you were really paying attention. Then they would lump all the short billing onto one invoice and rocket you into the higher tier. I would receive bills that were 4-5K higher than they should be but there was no recourse or credit coming my way as my meter reading then aligned with the statement.
The standard trick with inflated estimates will still happen but it will mean you will be in credit and are just forced to fork out now. Sucks but you won't lose out like I've mentioned above. Just means you have to budget for their idiocy.
Sorry, I should have said:
There is no word for "million" in Pedi.
Prepaid system seems like the best system for dealing with these Soweto scenarios where people just refuse to pay and can't be disconnected.Easy way to stop it, get rid of the stupid prepaid system.
I almost choked on my lunchtime Powerade when I realized others, like yourself, were having lunchtime beers.Damnit. I almost choked on my lunchtime beer at this for some reason lol
Eskom insiders compromised its online vending system for prepaid electricity and stole billions
Several Eskom employees have been implicated in a large-scale scheme to create billions of rands of fraudulent prepaid electricity vouchers, enriching themselves while the utility received no income for the units.
The scale of the fraud likely impacted Eskom’s financial health, exacerbating its debt problem and resulting in higher tariff increases to compensate for the lost revenue.
The less money you can give to government, the less they can steal.

From what I have seen on mybb, no one is racist, they just dislike (insert skin colour/race/religion) behavioursAnd all the haters of the white boss can now retract their statements that the wete no criminals inside Eskom.
Which is something a smart meter stops.I like the pre paid system , no Eskom surprises , Why must I pay a estimate end of month .
And If I go away for 2 weeks and switch everything off , they still going to charge the month estimate
No those were v1. Eskom thought they disabled them but it seems v2 was stolen before they even started moving people to the second version. This old news. 50 vending machines were stolen in 2005 already, if I recall correctly. It was an insider`s jobby, and it seems these machines are still active today.
