Insiders reveal explosive information about Eskom's collapse

Eskom insiders have revealed that politics, poorly skilled staff, a lack of training, affirmative action, poor budgeting, and corruption are the real reasons for the collapse at Eskom. explosive

In 2022, South Africans endured the worst load-shedding the country has ever seen, and many experts warned the situation is set to get worse.

"A good example is Eskom’s call for recruit skills, where Solidarity provided an extensive list of skilled professionals, only for the company to say the list lacked transformation."

That's what @TheChamp was going on about too. Those racists at Solidarity!

I hate all the politics. Just fix Eskom.

I think it is perhaps time that we change the name for SOE's to reflect the ruling party.

So no more Eskom, let's call it ANC Electrical.

That'll help the less informed to draw a direct line between why they have no power and the parties involved.

on that pic, de reyter and posa in new ppe, no shock marks on them. Wonder what ppe Andre use when washing his car.

For someone thats been there 3 years, De Ruyter hasnt done anything really to make it better, other than charge us more

THE CEO SHOULD GO. FIRE HIM.

I would never have someone so useless in any of my companies.

They should have appointed someone similar to Steve Jobs, who walks into departments, find out if they are doing anything useful, if not. Give them a package and send them marching from the door. As simple as that.

A CEO should be feared for a business to succeed. Supported yet feared.

But De Ruyter is a push over and seems very much part of the problem. In matter of fact I consider him a puppet CEO and nothing more.
You are slightly detached from reality.

Little or no action is taken against poor-performing employees. Employees are often on paid suspensions for months when action is taken because of serious misconduct.

Nothing related to this issue in the proposed actions.

Nothing could be done as far as this is concerned. As soon as a disciplinary action is started, the unions get involved to stop it.

Before I even got into the article, I was thinking about this famous historical analogy:
“I think when he saw what Tutuka looked like, he understood that the Potemkin village that had been portrayed to him – a very pleasing picture was presented, you know, ‘Sure, we can get to an EAF 75%’ – but when he saw what the true state of the plant was, then I think he said ‘okay, now we need some drastic interventions’,” De Ruyter told us a few days later.

See:

I dont know how you would do it, but I would simply

FIRE THE CEO

And then fire the entire management executive. They are totally useless. They have been in charge for 2 years and still they havent really done anything to deal with it. The public has said many a times that a lot of Eskom employees need to be shown the door, but that never happens. And the CEO hardly objects to anything. Heck they stole R1.5 billion bucks or parts from under his watch yet he doesnt do anything but keep asking for more money.

De Ruyter should be fired, as simple as that. When a ship sinks, the captain should go down because it all happened during his watch, but he is there as a white puppet to make the tax payers happy, and he isnt really doing anything that he is supposed to be doing, other than deflect the criticism.

Actually, he's the only one who seems to have been dealing with clarity in the whole issue vs under the rug. The problem is political and policies being driven outside of the entity.

I remember there was a massive drive for artisans. I was even offered a full internship and entry to their programs back in '96 which I declined because I wanted to study further in a differant field.
