"A good example is Eskom’s call for recruit skills, where Solidarity provided an extensive list of skilled professionals, only for the company to say the list lacked transformation."

That's what @TheChamp was going on about too. Those racists at Solidarity!

I hate all the politics. Just fix Eskom.
Yip.. some people here defending BEE, AA.

And we all knew for years Eskom AA policies, BEE tenders are the downfall.. nothing new. Let go of staff that is not required, cut the food bill while at it too.

edit: And government is still hell bent on keeping the quotas. So they rather have SA in the dark, then removing these racist laws.

Racist article is racist.
We all know that there are legacy problems, and any attempt to fix is thwarted by the direct cause of Jan and his White Monopoly Capital.
The EishcANCer knows what it is doing, so you can all SHARRUP!!!!

Yes, most of the usual suspects who defend De Ruyter are only doing so because he's white, under the same circumstances they wouldn't be falling over themselves defending him if he was black, he would be labelled an ANC cadre, incompetent and generally all the terms used to describe black executives by some on this forum. I have repeated that many times on here, there should be nothing tripping you up, I don't know what is confusing about my statement of Corelli being detached from reality.

I have also said he is not a bad CEO and I don't think he should be fired because Eskom's problems are way much bigger than a single individual.

But you didn't say that at the time - you mentioned de Ruyter specifically.

For someone thats been there 3 years, De Ruyter hasnt done anything really to make it better, other than charge us more

THE CEO SHOULD GO. FIRE HIM.

I would never have someone so useless in any of my companies.

They should have appointed someone similar to Steve Jobs, who walks into departments, find out if they are doing anything useful, if not. Give them a package and send them marching from the door. As simple as that.

A CEO should be feared for a business to succeed. Supported yet feared.

But De Ruyter is a push over and seems very much part of the problem. In matter of fact I consider him a puppet CEO and nothing more.
Man, you are clueless.

I said a lot of things about De Ruyter, it would be much helpful if you were to quote the specific post that you are aggrieved about and we talk directly to it.

You seemed to recollect which we were discussing quite clearly before?

But don't worry, I get your point about people defending people because of their colour.

Of course, that cuts both ways.....

Eskom CEO André de Ruyter’s promise that they would “significantly reduce” load-shedding from September 2021

:ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

He's not an engineer. In engineering the prediction of time taken is:
ΔT=πt

Where:

T - Actual time for project
t - Estimated time for project.

Jeepers, people still defending De Ruyter. Wow. You guys are basically the same as @TheChamp when it comes to anything non-white being criticized. De Ruyter hasn't done a meaningful thing at Eskom except pocket his massive salary. He is Mark Barnes V2.
How would you know? Have you ever worked under the ANC government directly reporting to a bunch of Ministers?

Eskom wont be fixed by the ANC, the only way out of this has already begun. Companies, Municipalities and Households moving to self-generation. The light for the tunnel will come from Eskom being forced to buy all the excess power while the ANC still thinks about inviting more IPPs and Western Nation Investments.

Do you believe any other CEO will be anything more than a puppet or otherwise be allowed to do their job without any meddling?

The article literally states that there is an overbearing amount of political interference at the utility, so it doesn't matter who is in charge, the politics of the day will decide what they can and cannot do and then you still have to factor in the unions that run amok as well.

Exactly. Ideology is running Eskom.

I dont know how you would do it, but I would simply

FIRE THE CEO

And then fire the entire management executive. They are totally useless. They have been in charge for 2 years and still they havent really done anything to deal with it. The public has said many a times that a lot of Eskom employees need to be shown the door, but that never happens. And the CEO hardly objects to anything. Heck they stole R1.5 billion bucks or parts from under his watch yet he doesnt do anything but keep asking for more money.

De Ruyter should be fired, as simple as that. When a ship sinks, the captain should go down because it all happened during his watch, but he is there as a white puppet to make the tax payers happy, and he isnt really doing anything that he is supposed to be doing, other than deflect the criticism.

Well, to be fair, he was number 28th in line after 27 black CEO's declined getting involved with this particular ANC abortion.

Did they really have any other choice but to accept the first yes after #20 or so? They didn't want a white guy, it's that the couldn't get a black guy..

I can just see old NDZ, ringing that till, hey Gladys, she's declining.. what must I do she's declining!!
