Eskom hiring engineers to fix load-shedding — and launching a crowdsourced skills database

Eskom says it will soon launch an online skills database to crowdsource experts for the power utility to hire. It will recruit suitable candidates that have already put up their hands to help fix load-shedding "imminently".

Eskom said it had received an "overwhelming" response to its call for skilled personnel to come forward to assist in rebuilding skills inside the organisation.

It pisses me off a lot more when people or companies implement obvious fixes too late vs the infrastructure being fckd.

WTF aren't the currently employed and overpaid engineers not ab... you know what... whatever, useless bunch of tits

The urgency of all gov-related entities is astounding.

They can't even launch a skills database. It's a ****ing email box

Eskom said although the platform was still under development, individuals who wished to be considered could contact Pule’s office via email at [email protected].

There is probably some sod sitting there adding contacts to a big spreadsheet.

"provide an equitable opportunity for all those willing to be considered for service"

And right there Eskom shows how serious they are taking the situation. Heaven forbid that you get a bunch of competent whities to fix your mess.

Even if they fix it, they need a competent maintenance team else things will just be Boom! when they turn it on.
