I worry about our food security. Apparently Onderstepoort have cocked up royally and have NO stock of any of the vaccines needed for diseases that could wipe out our farm herds. And they don't expect to be back on stream for the next 5 years.

Yip, heard it on the news yesterday. Another ANC "success story". Shocking.

At least while all of us starve we can tell the ANC supporters "told you so"

Or imagine the quick regime change if all the chickens die out and there is no KFC?!

Sigh, as satisfying as it is, telling ANC "I told you so", I really wish we weren't in the fkn position to do so =/ as in, everything wasn't fked up and there was no gravy train etc

I agree that these industries should be on the priority list for electricity supply, after hospitals an other critical institutions. However, them saying a generator cannot handle the load they require is not quite accurate. Shopping malls have generators that can reach over 1 MW, so these guys can do the same if they really have to. It might not be economically feasible, but compared to the lost production and other costs they incur with load shedding it could be worth it. They cannot wait for the government to save them while their business is going down the drain. Load shedding will remain a problem for at least the next 10 years.

Any news article on this? All I could find is this article from March already. Has it gotten much worse?

It's OK though because according to some MYBBers, Vaccines are just big corporate money making scams. So the diseases should not be anything to worry about
