Today's power availability forecast isn't looking good.

I wish there was a website/petition forum where everyone can just swear at escum . Just to accumulate thousands and thousands of lines of "F*#k you, escum" from everyone. Maybe then they will realise we dont care about their "90%" uptime bull***** excuses.

Sure, but a counter would be ideal. Something like a petition at change.org with 1 million people petitioning them to admit they are completely and utterly incompetent and corrupt. Could even press for an end to load shedding. Let them pay for the diesel to keep the lights on. Let mob boss Zooma open his vault to fit the bill. And while I'm dreaming, I'd also like a Ferrari.

I see eskom is punting bypassing municipalities and going direct to customers. Great idea. But will they also deal with the technical debt in the municipal distribution systems? Because that is a major can of worms...

If the systems I administrate only had 90% uptime due to my incompetence, I'd be fired on the spot and replaced by someone who can do the job.

Which would be a legal nightmare.

Who takes over the debt ?

Ownership of the assets ?

The right for the municipalities to manage the services in their precinct is constitutional, how can Eskom challenge a reluctant municipality who has a constitutional right ? Amending the constitution for this ?

Way too much trouble for little benefit.

Technical debt - I think Sinbad is referring to the IT term used to describe not having maintained a system and therefore it becomes more and more inefficient to the point where eventually you have to replace / rewrite the whole damn thing.

I also read it as such.
