Eskom announces weekend load-shedding — here is the timetable

Eskom has announced that it will continue to implement a schedule of all-day load-shedding throughout the weekend, alternating between stage 1 and stage 2 power cuts.

“Stage 1 load-shedding will continue to be implemented daily at 05:00–16:00 until Sunday. Stage 2 load-shedding will also continue to be implemented on a daily basis at 16:00–05:00 until Monday,” Eskom said.

They've been running very few OCGTs the last few days, 3 or 4 at most. So I'm guessing they're either trying to avoid buying expensive diesel or they don't know when they'll get more.

Somehow it is better to be consistently in, say, stage 2 than to be bouncing around in different stages at different times of the day. It ain't good to have load shedding at any time of the day, but consistency is preferrable.

Imagine they hire the schedule guys to generate, we'd have excess power coming out our gazoos, so agile, so on top of their game, so creative with their solutions. So unlike typical Eskom..

They should have constant stage 3.

Not stage 4. Stage 3 or lower specifically.
No reason.

Just say we're on permanent loadshedding as you're incapable to fix this colosal ****up and we need to just deal with it.
This. Stop f*ckng around and just call it rolling blackouts and leave at it like stage 5 or some s**t. No one cares anymore, really when last did anyone look at a stage x or y schedule.

A lot of people look at the schedule and stage 5 would crumble the economy even more

Quick q:

Anyone residing in area 8 Cape Town know why Fish Hoek which is area 8 has not been load shed of late, yet other parts including Simonstown with the Naval Base are?!

Not complaining, it's for an elderly relative who lives there, just curious if anyone knows what the reason is, if there is in fact any logic behind it at all.
