Eskom load shedding update: Wednesday 4 February

Drat, we're scheduled for 10:00 - 12:30 today on stage 1 - maybe PE municipality will adopt a wait & see how serious Eskom are attitude this time :whistling:

Same here, obviously, but I can live with that. First time this week iirc.

Speaking to a work colleague, they were supposed to be out yesterday from 10:00 - 12:30, but they ended up being shed at 20:00 - 22:00 - they can't even stick to the correct schedule for crying out loud :(

Yes, dodged the bullet so far this week.

... not looking forward to those damn beeps from the UPS'es, think I'll schedule some downtime this weekend to do something about it.

On Tuesday morning, Eskom said it would implement power cuts from 10am to 10pm.

Around 11am, it cancelled power cuts because there was a significant drop in electricity demand.

The power utility then reverted to stage one at around 5pm and said this was due to a constrained power system.
They must just load shed and be done with it. That way the power system will remain stable during peak hours (hopefully) and it will save consumers a lot of grief because if they cannot even stick to a simple schedule how are businesses supposed to plan their day around Eskom?

I guess I'll wait until afterwards to hang the biltong… there goes my morning. :p

Is it just me or has the language changed from "load shedding/power cuts" to "blackouts"?
Eskom trying to prepare us for something?
