Eskom loses 10 generating units - brace for Stage 6 power cuts

Don't worry Eskom, all those battery packs and UPSs that people have needed to install is going to suck down nice surge load as power comes back on in regions.

Well it was a joke before, but right now it would be more simple to just get notices of when we will have power rather than this current schedule they released.

This already happens. If boilers and heaters weren't too much now you have extensive inverter setups loaning energy each time the grid pops back on.

In many regions you can see how they struggle to get power up an running again after load shedding due to excess load in the grid.

It must be very bad living in a country of GREAT INCOMPETENCE. The future looks very very bad indeed. Everything just TANKED big time. The future whatever was left, economy, your inflation is going to rocket sky high etc. How SA is still relevant leaves a big question mark. Very sad indeed.

I don't think people with extensive inverter systems are the ones causing an issue.

Most of them would have solar and batteries and would really only use the grid to charge batteries under extreme conditions. My own system is only set to use the grid from 23:00 to :00 to charge batteries and only if the batteries are below 50% which is hardly ever the case.

Maybe the cheaper mecer trolley type systems are the ones causing a drain on the grid but I seriously doubt that a proper inverter system with batteries and solar panels is set to immediately start pulling everything it can from the grid to charge batteries the minute the grid comes back online.

Jisses and I'm sitting here, every inch of my being tainted by complete burnout and a workload that would bring Egyptian slaves to tears while the ship is going down.

I don't even know if I'm concerned, or excited. But clearly we're all in deep kuk.

Just need to go home and change my setup slightly so that the grid also charges my batteries overnight. No big deal. My only inconvenience is.......well the 1 minute it takes to change the setting.

As iemand het ge se... Ons is nou in ons moer!

Honestly does not matter what we do now... We in for a world of hurt and pain moving forward. Probably another 5-10 years of this nonsense. As the politics and crime syndicates play **** out. As the slow pace of maintenance and construction with ample delays and cost overruns. While everyone in the value chain waits with their hands out for their piece of the pie... The country will but slowly die...

Nothing short of a miracle can help us now...

Good luck to all of you out there who have to endure all this BS in this cold weather!
