Eskom's Stage 6 load shedding has seen candles, paraffin, gas bottles, emergency lights, and braai products fly off the shelves of South African retailers.

"Shoprite and Checkers supermarkets continue to include select products in our promotions, along with various braai-related products, as South Africans often use load shedding as an opportunity to cook on the braai," said Shoprite.

Saw this interesting thing on Takealotofcrap today...If I had some money to waste...

Damn clearly he doesn't know he + gov === Eskom.

He also doesn't want to accept that if he wasn't such a fscking backwards retarded corrupt dinosaur who is trying to line his retirement fund, we could have made significant progress towards fixing this problem already... just get out of the way of businesses self providing, and incentivise solar for residential at the very least and things would be very different by now. They wouldn't solve the problem at all, but they'd have taken some of the sting out of it.

And Uncle Gweezy is complaining again :

Gweezy you muppet, you can't turn around and go "look at the stuff we're doing now after loadshedding has been around for more than 10 years".

What about the last 20 years Gweezy... what were you muppets doing through all that time Gweezy????

You think a belly like Gweezy's happens overnight?
That's years of dedication and hard training...

It's idiotic. The whole attitude of "look we're doing something now" as an attempted justification of a response to something like insufficient generating power.

This is something you need to prepare for decades in advance, not address reactively over a decade after it starts happening.

The utter gall of trying to use this as an excuse.

We had stage whatever from 16:00-18:00 and now stage whatever from 18:00-20:30. They actually turned the power on for 1 minute at 18:00 and then turned it off again. What's the point lol? Why not just leave ours off

Ok now the power came back on at 8pm and then it went off again after a minute. Exactly like before. Don't know what's happening anymore. What a mess
