Incredible foresight considering the report that landed in government's lap in 1998 already :D
Reminds me of this sangoma duping Mugabe that diesel comes out of a stone:

And I'll be going on 2 years by the end of July with over 27.5MWh in total generation by then.

Two years ago everything made sense to go solar as prices dropped for panels, batteries and inverters while grid power was going up. At the moment it still makes sense to go solar but prices for components has gone up and supply cannot keep up with demand so expect to wait for decent inverters and batteries.

I spoke to my brother last year about the direction things were going and why we needed solar. He said it doesn't make financial sense. Maybe when we don't have power for half a day he'll finally turn his engineering brain on and realise we needed to get in on this sooner.

The ones that left for Perth said that **** will fall apart.
But for a while , our economy was growing. Water and electricity was being rolled out. We paid back the crippling loans from the previous government. Things were looking up.

Can't we just form a mob and burn the protestors?
When I saw illegal strikes, I immediately thought "this is surely a national keypoint and the army should get involved" and then thoughts of Marikana came up.

It is a very difficult situation we (South Africa collectively) find ourselves in.

This is only getting worse. I'm not seeing the turnaround that De Ruyter promised. Yes, I also understand that its a horrible, complex, taxing task but he has capable people around to help and advise. In my mind the pandemic was a missed opportunity for maintenance and reorganization to reduce loadshedding, but we went on to have some of the worst loadshedding during lockdown.

I don't think its going according to plan at Eskom.

Government needs to open up supply and maintenance of electricity to other providers now. Its time for private electricity suppliers to take over and for consumers to get stable electrical supply. Eskom would then be able to afford the flexibility to overhaul/rebuild/build new power stations without worrying about taking the country offline. We could literally have power generated for all at a cheaper cost.

Would it not be better to have as many different power generators as possible?

And then the ANC came stole everything and the people followed

Don't understand why the protest are an issue. Why aren't those people being shot or arrested?
They being enabled by our wonderful intellectually challenged government.

The same way a most respected comany in Africa can go tits up under BEE in a few years.

But this is all the ANC's plan to stave off losing control, Ramapoepol needs some diversion too, we'll be turned into Zimflopwe 2.0 long before elections 2024..

If I had a dollar for every time someone says this BS I might be able to buy a house.

Auto pilot really, and because we were the darling of the world with Mandela.
