Haha not only that , you will pay as a tax payer to get rid of them , (packages and pay for new workers to be trained an pay even further for inexperience )
This is a lose lose situation .
 
A country that does not use its best available resources (irrespective of orientation) to develop is doomed.

... and the we and they (black and white) debate helps nobody as we are all together on this ship.

BEE and AA are the reasons why this country will never be fully developed. Guys I know are planning to get the fk out of here soon. It's hard to find a single good reason to not give up on this broken nation nowadays. Beautiful seasons my fking ass.

I was highly patriotic even though I am an immigrant, but recent developments has left a bitter taste in my mouth. Maybe it's time to go back home.
 
Who are these "White" people Eskom is talking about?
"White" is a full visual spectrum radiation reflection from an object,
and in order to have that, you need light, which requires, erm, power.
So presumably these "White" people can only be identified in the daytime?
or by candle-light supper?

Or do they refer to the category of persons designated "White" or "00" on the
ID of the ancien regime?
That categorization is a crime against humanity, and based on unscientific principles,
like, erm, pencil tests and other machinations.
To identify persons based on these previous past imperfect categories is to
be an accessory to a crime, and an error anyway.

There is not enough skilled workers to do that work. This is something you can learn from any Government parastatal. In fact, from a number of businesses as well.

Always funny when people say awesome weather is a reason to stay in SA. Like that makes up for everything else

That's why I got off the ship. Every time I miss SA, reading about all this nonsense quickly makes me realise that I made the right choice. The rest of Africa is developing, slowly but surely, and SA is un-developing. Even Nigeria's economy has surpassed SA. Make no mistake, Nigeria is still a ****hole I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, but even they have some growth. Soon enough, SA will be indistinguishable from the other banana republics in Africa.

The government cares about one thing and one thing only: staying the government. They will push any stupid thing that gets them more votes regardless of the long term cost to society or the world in general. Look at Zim, do you think Bob's decisions make any sense otherwise?
 
Apartheid in reverse.

In order to secure votes, they will rather cripple the country with lazy cadres who know nothing and do nothing.
 
Mbuzi, I do feel you there. This is a step backwards. I am not white or black but I can tell you that we are taking steps backwards.
 
The real problem in Eskom and with BEE in general:

"The other day on the radio a former Eskom employee described what working at Eskom was like . She described how countless people would sit around all day not knowing what to do, with little enthusiasm for doing any form of work. To address the lack of skills, employees were regularly sent on training courses but often large numbers of people didn’t pitch up for the training and no disciplinary action was taken against them either. There were even cases of employees playing golf during office hours and likewise nothing ever happened to them either. White qualified managers and engineers were replaced with the new cadres who were so out of their depth, that it was not even funny. Whenever a difficult decision needed to be taken, the logical response was to postpone it. There was (and probably still is) a total absence of proper project management and planning and an appreciation for the bigger picture. Getting paid at the end of the month was the sole and only objective. After a few years, she couldn’t stand this soul destroying circus any longer and she resigned. "
