Eskom hiding the truth about Medupi

Energy experts have slated Eskom’s announcement that the last unit of the Medupi power station achieved commercial operation, which marks the completion of the project.

Eskom said the last of six generation units of the Medupi power station in Lephalale attained commercial operation status and was handed over to the generation division.

Ha! Medupi was built to be "FGD ready".
World Bank definitely knew the likelihood of successful implementation of any SO2 abatement.
But I guess a loan is a loan...

BREAKING | Eskom confirms explosion at Medupi, no injuries reported​


Power utility Eskom has confirmed that an explosion occurred at unit 4 of Medupi power station on Saturday night.

While no injuries have been reported, emergency services attended to seven employees for shock. All employees and contractors have been accounted for, said Eskom.

The incident is thought to have caused unit 5 to trip.

In a statement on Sunday morning, Eskom said the explosion took place at 22:50 on Saturday.
