Eskom performs a Christmas miracle

Eskom has radically adjusted its planned maintenance schedule over Christmas and New Year's, substantially reducing the chances of load-shedding.

In the early morning of Wednesday, 30 November 2022, MyBroadband published an article which explained that load-shedding could be implemented on Christmas for the first time since the rotational power cuts started.

Isn't that what played a major part in worsening Eskom's demise, deferring maintenance?

Gonna start the year off in darkness no doubt.

Told you so. The ANC doesn't want the fallout of Christmas load shedding. But we're damn sure gonna pay for it next year.

This sounds like a bad idea. If the maintenance was planned, it was for a reason. Now they cancel the maintenance over christmas where presumably the load is low, when are they going to do it? In January when the demand is high?

They have not cancelled all maintenance - they've reduce the amount of planned maintenance.

Perfect. Skip the maintenance so that it can break the following week.
Given how they are constantly doing maintenance and **** is then constantly breaking down, its clear what the problem is. Spoiler: The maintenance teams are ****ing it all up, either purposely to get more tenders, or just through incompetence
