The question Eskom and André de Ruyter refuse to answer

Eskom and its CEO André de Ruyter avoid one topic like the plague: What happened to the promise of limiting load-shedding from September 2021?

In February 2020, shortly after he was appointed, IOL reported that De Ruyter had set himself a target of 18 months to end the country’s persistent load shedding.

I remember Zuma saying, in May 2016: "Now I am going to tell people there will never be any load shedding, I have been here, I have seen it"

He also said that SAA is not for sale.

Here we are. 50-hour water outage to western parts of Gauteng as well.

The water isn't out, it's reduced and I've not had any water issues and I'm in western gauteng, but I am a low laying area.

Asking the wrong question. Rather ask more directly why is it so hard to reduce unplanned breakdowns… not a single time from what I know has the unplanned breakdowns been less than 10 000MW? So clearly your 5000MW planned maintenance BS is NOT WORKING?

Crazy idea ay.

MyBB should rename themselves to MyEskom at this stage.

The ANC government doesn't need you to make excuses for their looting of essential-services infrastructure maintenance funding.
But the water outage is because of maintenance for a change? Also it's not completely out.

This is the 3rd widespread water outage for Western Gauteng in 3 years. Forgive me for not trusting the media-releases explaining why a 50-hour maintenance window necessary to fix 27 years of neglect.

If you trawl social media, you'll see that the water is completely out for many areas, largely outside of suburbia, where tens of thousands live in densely populated areas.

It would be much more useful and meaningful to see how much maintenance was performed under each CEO and what problems were maintenance connected and what not.
For goodness sake, article writers, take some pride in your work!
