Shame man.
They're just clearing out the land they now have.

If a pylon falls and there's no one around to hear it... did it really go down?

2 of those images showed the bars separating at around ground level.... did the grinder guy remove dirt, cut and then replace dirt?

I don't have access to the evidence, not do I know what an angle grinder cut looks like vs. a shear, but if I were cutting them I wouldn't be cutting that low. It seems really awkward.
Well this definitely does not look like a shear. Very clean cut.

We are under attack from elements from the gravy train. They tried earlier in the year with the riots and Water infrastructure. They are losing grip
This, very much this ^^^^

Coal guys are making a killing, this is aimed at them. Factionalism. Probably will see actual killings too, like we do in other SA run industries.

yea agreed. It also would need to have sheared across 8 stays... that seems highly unlikely to me.

I can't even understand why someone would do something like this. Madness.

Yip. The gravy is not as much as they want... now they are sabotaging to get Andre out . Then they can get their cadres back into charge, feeding them unlimited gravy.

edit: My Question is .. is Cyril Shocked?

Arrest the lot of them, charge them and lock them away for decades. This is worse than other crimes because it is a direct attack on critical national infrastructure.

This will never happen.... we all know, or should know by now that we're literally on our own.

Only way forward as far as I'm concerned is to close as many taps as possible when it comes to money flowing to Government then let them murder each other while we try and use as much of that cash to try and get ourselves out of the k@k we're in... there's no other way but to federalize at this point and ignore the current Gov. exists.

(clean the blood off the pavement with a hosepipe when it's done and dusted)...
But our private sector is complete and utter slapgat and the same goes for the average person.

Its all to get Andre out because he's trying to clean up the rot.

A properly functioning and largely clean Eskom would more than likely be able to function quite well and not require stupid bailouts and crazy price increases to feed the gravy.

What’s with the overwhelmingly cynical attitude in this thread? If nobody is prepared to extend a bit of trust to the new management or to raise a finger and make a call when they see an issue but rather complain that it’s the same as ever and that the turnaround is going fast enough then no wonder change for the better always takes longer. Then you’re part of the problem. It’s like not calling the water department wherever you may live in SA when there’s a burst pipe on the road. How are they supposed to smell that it’s damaged until it’s too late?

Ok cool, so who should have noticed the pylon being cut near a power station in pretty much empty space and contacted Eskom?

As for your water department example. I've tried to be that resident.... I once ended up spend 45 minutes on the phone before getting through to someone, and then getting the runaround because I could only give them an address instead of an account number for their ticket system... At that point I gave up and just left it.

**EDIT**
I was schooled by @Sinbad about not actually reading an article proper like and all that.

It's not inside the power station though. It states in the article that the pylon was not on eskom property.

At a guess, the yellow highlight is the conveyor... Power probably runs along a similar route?

Lethabo gets its Coal from the Vaal Coal mine located next to the power station.

The coal gets to Lethabo by conveyor belts.

These overhead power lines feeds the conveyor belts between Vaal mine and the power station.

It would be impossible to secure that entire area.
Any area can be secured.

Fencing, motion sensors, and an alarm system for motion detection.

Hmmph...
They are just following the communist playbook.

Same communist cadres involved. Let's deflect the blame. Don't blame the government and Eskom. Blame a third party.
They will soon begin naming who they reckon the third party is... right wing.... USA... capitalists... etc etc.

This article about Venezuela's electricity problems and blackout seems very familiar...

Corruption. Incompetence. Neglect. Political meddling. Same old...
