Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but allegedly the terrain on which the sabotaged pylon is on can only be accessed by Eskom staff.

Also some deja-vu, Mandela was involved or held responsible for the sabotage of a pylon ?

So is this power line inside the power station or mine area.

If inside the yard, they should have the station manager responsible. I have heard of a manager [at a mine] who walk pass places on his mine, where security should have notice him, they were fired on the spot. He walk into offices and saw personnel sitting and not working, they got fired the next day.

Now you catch a guy stealing diesel from say Eskom, and give him R5000 bail, and Cyril is not shocked.

Because the rot is top to bottom. That is why nothing government-run works in South Africa.

The people at the top are often the least competent and most corrupt.

What does that mean exactly? Is there a fence all round with guards and only an Eskom permit gets you through?

While I wouldn't put it past anyone, employed by the company or not, to conduct the sabotage we're talking about one of many thousands of pylons which tend to lie on servitudes on private land and are certainly not in any way, shape or form "inaccessible"

I would love to know what is going through that factions head when they do stupid shyte like this...
I would like us not to get too carried away by apportioning all the blame to factions of the ANC for the alleged sabotage and forget that this has been going on for years and it's not specific to Eskom, network sabotage affects the telecoms industry, Transnet and everyone, because there are contractor cabals who benefits from the vandalism.

Not saying there isn't any political involvement in the vandalism, just saying that there are many interests in the vandalism of infrastructure, Eskom will do well to acknowledge that this is not just unknown dark forces who are damaging the network.

I use the word faction very loosely and not specifically in relation to the ANC...

You do realise that you won't be voting for cyril. You'll be voting for both of them.
I know what you mean. The problem is that there is no-one else. I'm sort of thinking: "If they reconcile, there won't be any need to think that destroying the country will help anyone."

It is the DA that gave the country the middle finger by failing to handle Mmusi. First of all, the guy is married to a white woman, so he can't really be habouring some hatred towards white people. Secondly, he is a pastor of a multi-ethnic evangelical church. Someone like that is easy to deal with, if you are serious. That they allowed things to deteriorate to the level that they had to go their separate ways is a shame.
