Durban has no loadshedding, but there's is water rationing which is a great inconvenience as the water goes off at 3pm and returns at 6am next day.

But at least we have the Durban July tomorrow, I'm hoping to win enough to get a Jojo tank and pump installed .... Maybe I should back the horse called Sparkling Water
The way this country is going, you would probably be better off buying the horse. It doesn't need insanely expensive petrol or electricity to run the water pump. Can also use it draw the wagon with your haul of firewood to cook over and keep you warm.

Only if the race starts before 3pm

I was wondering why it's called load shedding. It's really rolling blackouts that SA is having on a continuous basis. Is it a SA word?

load shedding doesn't sound as bad. Easier to keep the "good story" narrative going.

We are having rolling blackouts nationally (except durban) with a lot of localised brownouts.

Because Eskom is shedding its load all over our faces and we just have to take it

Latest, News24.com;

Load shedding will remain on Stage 4 until 22:00 on Friday. It was previously scheduled to be on Stage 6. Load shedding will then be lowered to Stage 2 until 07:00 on Saturday morning, Eskom said in a statement on Friday afternoon.

Stage 4 load shedding will then be implemented from 07:00 to 22:00 on both Saturday and Sunday, and at Stage 2 from 22:00 to 07:00 on both Saturday and Sunday.

"Eskom cautions that this small reprieve is due to lower than anticipated demand during the weekend and continues to evaluate the situation and closely monitor the system.

"We will communicate and implement any changes as may be necessary," the utility said.

Currently 3 104MW are out on planned maintenance, while another 17 431MW of capacity is unavailable due to breakdowns.

It's 10:30, Saturday morning. According to stage 4 in my town, our power should be off but it's not.

Has Eskom given us a surprise stage 2? I haven't been able to find any confirmation.
