Eskom employees get 7% pay increase

Eskom has announced that non-managerial employees will receive a 7% salary increase over three years from 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2026.

This followed successful negotiations between Eskom, the National Union of Mineworkers, the National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa, and Solidarity at the Central Bargaining Forum.

If you include the other allowances and once-off cash payments how much is that since last year (when they got another 7%)? Like 35% by June 2025? Not bad earnings for such a useless bunch. (although we are grateful for the relief from load shedding this week!)

“It is worth noting that this is the first time in more than a decade that the parties have reached agreement in the room.”

Of course it is easy to reach an agreement if you do ridiculous things like 7% per year over 3 years. I guess you might as well promise the world if you are taking down the entire country down with you in flames.

I am sure there are some people that deserve it. But across the board... That is insanity.

The underdelivering poeses are overpaid as it is. pathetic cretins
