Eskom starts Stage 1 load-shedding

Eskom has announced that Stage 1 rotational load-shedding will take place from 12:00 to 22:00 today.

The outages are a result of an increase in generation plants being out for both planned maintenance and unplanned outages, according to their website.

And once again my suburb is out from 4 PM to 8:30 PM

Christ.

We never get loadshed during office hours... always only after work.

As the clock hit 13:00 Hennopspark got switched off and the street sounds like a plane landing with all the businesses generators starting up.

Well this would explain ADT calling me to say my alarm had gone off.

Until CT goes watershedding again.
They might not have water, but at least they can still pomp pump if they need, i.e. its dry but you can drink it. Tee hee.

Meanwhile here on the north coast of Debben, we went through a phase of load shedding and water shortages at the same time. :notworthy:

Power went out at 11:55, not exactly 12pm now is it
Ahh, the famed efficiency of KDM. I'm south of you so inside the greater eThekwini border. Our suburb is scheduled for 20h00; hopefully they've changed their minds by then. If not then I can at least take solace in knowing the late slots often get re-connected within an hour as people decide to go to bed.

That's odd, they usually can tell the difference; I just get an sms saying there's been a power outage. Maybe tell them go round and check on your place anyway.

Yeah, they did and said it was power related. Everything at the house was fine. I just hope my router's ok. Have already lost one router and my onboard LAN port to loadshedding :crying:

That is the weird thing, our offices are on the Ethekwini grid, and time scheduled is 8am to 10am
