Eskom starts Stage 1 load-shedding

Eskom has announced that Stage 1 rotational load-shedding will take place from 12:00 to 22:00 today.

The outages are a result of an increase in generation plants being out for both planned maintenance and unplanned outages, according to their website.

They might not have water, but at least they can still pomp pump if they need, i.e. its dry but you can drink it. Tee hee.

Ahh, the famed efficiency of KDM. I'm south of you so inside the greater eThekwini border. Our suburb is scheduled for 20h00; hopefully they've changed their minds by then. If not then I can at least take solace in knowing the late slots often get re-connected within an hour as people decide to go to bed.

Yeah, they did and said it was power related. Everything at the house was fine. I just hope my router's ok. Have already lost one router and my onboard LAN port to loadshedding

That is the weird thing, our offices are on the Ethekwini grid, and time scheduled is 8am to 10am

I think @Dan C was on to the right idea, he bought a router UPS on Black Friday. Price was good too, I shall see what I can find for myself. I suggest you do too.
