Eskom strips Karpowership of preferential grid access

Eskom has stripped Karpowership and another preferred bidder in the country's emergency private power procurement programme of their preferential transmission grid access due to failure to reach financial close after nearly two and a half years of delays.

The utility said that five budget quotes for the grid integration of the remaining four projects in the Risk Mitigation Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (RMIPPPP) expired on 31 December 2023 and would not be extended further.

So karpowership wanted to provide additional power to the country and eskom delayed it infinitively and they make karpowership the bad guys, because then eskom would lose bribe money.
This is probably what de ruyter has been talking about with regards to the cartels and bribery...

Eskom long ago said the rates and agreement to pay regardless of whether or not the power was required were things it didn't agree with.

I'm not surprised they pulled the plug.

Whole deal stinks to high heaven.

Anything to make dumb Ruyter look good.

Unbelievable!

*Gemsbok PV and Mulilo Coega Gas to Power Plant are from a single preferred bidder project and have a combined dispatchable capacity of 200MW.
No wonder Eskom have problems. Gemsbok - 180MW & Mulilo - 200MW. 180 + 200 = 380MW, unless my maths is wrong.

Stage 10 incoming... cadres want their loots

Just keep the air cons off and we'll be just fine.
