Eskom takes control of major South African city's load-shedding

Eskom has revoked the City of Ekurhuleni's (CoE) management of the municipality's rotational power cuts after it failed to load-shed customers as instructed in the National Rationalised Specifications (NRS) Code of Practice.

As a result, the state-owned power utility started directly load-shedding Ekurhuleni customers on Tuesday, 25 July 2023.

So what does this now mean....are we gonna be load shedded more or less?

And I thought we weren't being load shed at night because an ANC comrade moved into the area. Turns out the CoE employees aren't being paid overtime, so they refused to go out.

Disclaimer: I hear this from a friend of a friend of a friend.

In also stay in this shithole near Pomona. We are in hour 19 of yesterday's scheduled 4-6 loadshedding slot.
This is a common occurrence here and presently no one knows why or what is going on.
So to Ekurhuleni and the cANCer ......fok julle naaiers.
Imagine being so proud of being pathetic failures at everything.

Time to pay for your sins, stay in darkness for the sins of your ancestors. You will be load shed for an equivalent number of hours your ancestors left millions in darkness.

This is the truth as well

further issue with the over time issue, is when the feeders trip due to in-rush current at 8pm they dont go out either....

we had no power for just on 15 hours last night following loadshedding, back on at 8:01
