Eskom Tells Senior Managers Unit Separation To Take 3 to 5 Years

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd., the South African power utility struggling with almost $30 billion in debt, said it will take as long as three to five years to comply with the government’s plan to split the company into three separate units.

President Cyril Ramaphosa said in February that the company would be divided into generation, transmission and distribution units to make it more manageable. The split is part of a rescue plan that also committed the government to pay $8.4 billion over three years in bailouts.

A Taxpayer's remorse:

Eskom is a very technical company, everything is very technical, very practical as well.

-Eskom needs a very strong technical sustainable capability.
-Eskom needs a managerial capability that EXACTLY understand what they are dealing with.
-Eskom needs an administrative section that EXACTLY understand what they are dealing with.

---If its split in 3 units, how will the above SUDDENLY comes right-?
---If its split in 3 units, will one unit cut off its services if another cannot pay-?
---If its split in 3 units, will one unit withold services, if another unit is not technically mactched up to it-?

------If it is split in 3 units, how will certain and which functions be DOUPLICATED-?
------If certain functions are DUPLICATED in the process, how will costs to municipalities and consumers be effected-?

$$$-If the intelligence was not there to run Eskom well as it is now, how will this suddenly be present with 3 units created-?
$$$-What are the chanches it fails 3 times as carastrophicly as is currently the case-? Failure means interrupt power unpredictable, and it becomes unaffordable to more consumers as already is.

This won't take me longer than 3 months.

The problem is the guy tasked with implementation doesn't have the support to hire and fire at will.

Debt, if you don't plan to pay it back, is just more delicious gravy..

Methinks the plan was always for the pigs to empty the trough, borrow to fill it up again, and gobble some more.

Swine don't care about 2moro or the future and sustainability, or even your protestations, to them its all about the chomp-chomp & the slurp-slurp..
