Eskom thieves who stole millions for Disneyland trips get 20 years behind bars

A former Eskom financial controller and service provider were sentenced to 20 years imprisonment by the Palm Ridge Commercial Crimes Court on Tuesday, 29 March 2022.

The sentencing comes after the pair, Barnard Moraka and Victor Vilosi Tshabalala, were found guilty of 53 counts of fraud and theft that cost Eskom R35 million.

far too light a sentence, sabotaging infrastructure for their own ends,
but at least one is caught and made an example of.

I like Disneyland as well.
Did they not steal enough to go to the bigger Disney World though?

Probably be out on parole in a few years and at it again...

We need to physically mark these criminals, imprint their foreheads with hot steel "Thief" ... IDK anything, these fraudsters are relentless...

Jirre we're a cynical bunch. Justice finally prevailed. We should be happy. And I am.

However, my first thought is that they're basically in recruitment camp now, they'll be out in a year with that many more connections.

Good but the stealing rate most likely still exceeds the prosecution rate in the cANCer.

Well done. May it be just one in an ocean of many more examples being made.

There should be an entire separate police and legal staff dedicated solely to handling these public servant corruption trials.

No extensive waiting and delays for court days etc.. Just an efficient production line smacking these thugs down and taking all their assets.

Do enough of that efficiently enough and the corruption will rapidly stop.

This.

I would also propose a public flogging and execution by being drawn and quartered, captured on a live feed.
Corruption will amazingly drop to almost zero after a month of this happening.

Could even charge a subscription for the stream. I'd pay to see it.

They should be behind AC busbars with 88kVa running through them.
Should the 88 kVa be running through the busbars, or the criminals? I'm good with either one, but if it is running through the criminal, then given the amount of Eskom thieves, we may be in a constant state of load shedding to be able to run the electricity through them.

I think manual labour for these crooks is more fitting. If a coal conveyer belt breaks down, then these molluscs should be brought in to carry the coal on their backs until the conveyer belt is fixed. If it starts raining they should be brought in to lie on top of the coal to keep it dry etc. Make them work hard manual labour to fix the damage they have caused.

Now they are going to our local Disney Land. Those rides are going to leave them clenching their cracks

This is great. Even if they would have spent a part of R35 million loot but if you take away assets, take away pension then there is not much they can do. Hopefully, sentences such as these will act as deterrent.

And yeah, Viva New Dawn Viva.
