They're not getting a cent from me.

Going offgrid was a great decision. Cost a bit upfront, but now i'm looking at all this and going told you so.

Not all of us have the money to go offgrid. We will just have to bend over and take it. No lube....

Holy sh#t, they blew R21Bn in less than 6 months.

So what they need another R23Bn (to blow in the next 6 months) or more load shedding?

Nice Blog. Neatened it up a bit since I saw it last..

Given that was almost a year ago, how have the numbers changed?

Do you have a spreadsheet where you can tweak the inputs to get the eventual costs and associated break-even/pay-off period?

The bad news is, even if you go completely off grid, you are still paying for Eskom.

At their current burn rate, they'll need bailouts from the tax payer constantly.

Indirectly, at least. Can't escape those taxes.

Eskom are ****ed. Those that can afford to will start moving off grid, taking their money with them.

They'll then be left with the likes of Soweto as customers.

Dead-weight users who don't pay.

Viva.
