Eskom wants R4.75 billion from municipalities

Yeah.. cut the fsckers off and see how quickly the residents force the municipalities to pay the money.
 
If the municipalities stopped stealing and wasting our money they would be able to pay but the cadres screwing the cadres will never end.
 
They are only seeking the assistance of debt collectors now? Wow!

Lol. Walmer township... they trashed the place when they were disconnected and the muni just went back in and reconnected for them.
I honestly thought I was coming here to read that Eskom directors were forced to pay back their bonuses.
 
It would be funny if it weren't so stupid.

The ANC told Eskom to not go hardline on municipalities who do not pay, because they promised the people free power.

At some point of course, the money ran out. What is that saying about socialism attributed to Margaret Thatcher - the problem with socialism is that sooner or later, you run out of other people's money?

Now the problem is that the people are used to not paying, and will fight tooth and nail to keep it that way.

Congratulations ANC, you created your own problem.

Thats what they did here in Harties, yet Harties contributes the most to Madibeng Municipality. There's no way they going to disc the illegal connections. Like Arietans said, nail the pigs at the top trough.
 
They cut the leavy suburbs within a week of non-payment and it takes at least three days to reconnect after payment. They even cut your electricity if it's only the first time in 30 years one did pay late after the postoffice didn't deliver the invoice due to strikes.
 
like the rest of us, if we dont pay, we get cut off, dont even have the benefit of the doubt, no going >2months without pay, to rack up a huge bill... pay or get cut.... should work for everybody.
the madam told the councils to "switch off your street lamps in the day".... they giving the finger, coz i still see lights all over burning in the sunshine
 
****, I get a notice 7 days after the due date, that gives 10 days to pay up or get cut off. And if you didn't get an invoice, or the notice, that's your problem, they cut you off anyway.

It's only the ANC crooks that get mahala electricity.
 
The municipalities should rather build their own power stations like they used to have here in Durban .
Just disconnect from Eskom and leave them to their big bonuses and inefficiencies .
Eskom is to big and has to many problems .
Short term we could park a couple floating power stations in the Durban bay .
