Eskom wants solar power users to pay R938 per month - even if they don't use its electricity

Cele will use his new drones to identify you
He's going to need a lot of drones...also isn't there more obvious 'crime' that needs to be addressed first? Thanks though I'll risk it with my guerilla PV installation
They can't actually prove that it's physically connected to anything either...For all they know I could have panels up on my roof to protect it from the summer hail.

If you use no power due to your solar system they will still expect you to pay this more expensive fixed "network charge"... or else they will cut you off?
I mean of course I will use Eskom power during the night, when it's clowdy etc. During the day it's mainly solar so if all they do is check the meter once a month then it's all good...
Like I said above...they have to prove 1) that the panels are actually connected and that 2) I didn't just turn my geyser and everything else off to save power

According to this data, Eskom customers with usage below 900kWh will pay substantially more than before.

A user that previously used 400kWh on Homepower 1 would be paying R593 per month more on the proposed new Homepower 1 tariff.

Households with 800kWh monthly usage would pay R271 more. The higher the monthly consumption, the lower the increase.

Customers who use 1,000kWh or more would pay less.
What batshit crazy insane person(s) dreamt up this scheisse?

It's time for daily drug testing at NERSA and Eskom, pee in the cup before you swipe your access card and with security and all your colleagues watching you.

And no, two+ girls cannot pee in the same cup.

No, we are allowed on the beach now, solar is the obvious next serious crime wave.
