Cadres at ESKOM take their orders from the ANC......ANC is running and ruining ESKOM like everything else they have touched.......Andre De Ruyter and others employed who are not ANC are just figureheads who are there to take the fall whilst ESKOM eats itself. How in the world can you manage "unplanned" maintenance at a specific level ? Would that not qualify it as planned maintenance ? Isn't unplanned the effect of something breaking that you apparently had no control over ?
WTF is going on with Eskom and the use of definition because this is just getting more ridiculous each time they make a statement.
LOL - Great questionHow in the world can you manage "unplanned" maintenance at a specific level ? Would that not qualify it as planned maintenance ?
“We will ensure, with the City of Cape Town, that there will not be load-shedding at the venue during the President’s speech and also prior to and after the event to ensure that there is no disruption to this crucial part of our democratic processes.
“Where we are with the generation system right now, it is difficult for us to give an absolute guarantee that there will not be any load-shedding during Thursday evening . . . [but] we will do our best to restore the system, not because of SONA per se, but because we want to be a reliable supplier of electricity to the entire country.”
It's maintenance practice to manage breakdowns, it's in the definition of the job.How in the world can you manage "unplanned" maintenance at a specific level ? If you've ever seen a maintenance you'll see that they have targets to keep breakdowns below a level. You do that by maintaining equipment which ensures that you have good predictability. This is obvious.Uh no, the definition of unplanned maintenance is exactly what I stated. You cannot manage it, it happens unexpectedly and hence the idea of we will "manage" unplanned maintenance is an oxymoron.
And to put salt in the wound, the definition state that it happens due to no formal strategy in place. LMAO, sounds about right.
"Unplanned maintenance is any maintenance task that occurs unexpectedly. It happens when there is no formal strategy in place to address a repair, replacement, or inspection before it's needed. Unplanned maintenance is commonly the result of equipment failure that was not anticipated."
I agree to some extent, however an analogy would be a car. If you constantly do preventative maintenance you would know which parts are nearing end of life and can deal with those issues before the motor breaks down. An unexpected breakdown also becomes far less likely.Uh no, the definition of unplanned maintenance is exactly what I stated. You are ignorant of maintenance engineering. What are you on about and which track are you on now.
It is illogical by definition to make a statement that you will keep unplanned maintenance at low managed levels. I fail to see why you are arguing against it but be stubborn just like Eskom.
Again, you CANNOT by any sense of the definition keep anything related to unplanned maintenance below a certain or above a certain level otherwise you need to use a different definition and its not related to unplanned maintenance.
