Eskom has announced that it will suspend load-shedding at 22:00 on Friday, 22 April 2022.

The power utility's announcement follows the return-to-service of several generation units earlier in the week, and Eskom expects to return an additional nine units to the grid over the weekend.

My man, they're likely doing this to preserve diesel in those OCGTs. If they suspend loadshedding over peak period they're going to have run more of those turbines. If they wait until after peak they can lower turbine usage and preserve diesel reserves.

Loadshedding suspended over the weekend because the peak load is lower and they don't have the same issues having to run OCGTs to meet demand.

On Monday Eskom either has enough diesel reserves to avoid LS, and they will employ OCGTs or they don't and LS will resume.

It's been 14 years of this stuff with article after article along with your own personal experience. You shouldn't need this explained to you at this point.
