Ook, I've got bad news for you ... you may be using solar only & not paying directly, but your taxes are still subsidising them!

I know... but at least it's a % less of what I used to pay them before.

How's things your side?

It's lekker on the plot here  :D Wife 'n kids loving it, they're much happier here.

And still the workers want more - regardless of where the money comes from.

And the acting CEO came to radio this morning with a response. There is always a defensive response

Yup ... I saw the photos, pls upload more once it's all installed ... what's your eventual plan for max solar panels? ... I see prices have been dropping (at least here in the UK). Surprisingly, a LOT of houses have solar here, and it's almost standard for the excess to be fed back into the grid (and to get paid for it!)... effectively "storing" your excess in the grid. I just learnt the other day that currently 10% of England's electricity is from wind generation ... and believe me, they are working hard to increase that. Only problem is demand is still outgrowing the growth in renewable supply ...

I'm going well ... just spent the day next to the river watching the local boat races (Bank holiday today). I had to go & stand under a bridge to get out of the sun ... far too hot for me! :)

One day sometime in the future it will make economic sense for a critical mass to go off grid. I wonder what these feckers will eat then?

With the Tesla powerwall coming, I don't think this is to far in the future for households, at least those that are paying for services and getting loadshed.

This is true of all government employees and utilities. None of their benefits can be ended without a state of emergency first being declared. For this reason, the ANC-led government handles protests, strikes and squatters in exactly the same manner as the National Party government did. It is fair to say that any employer with more than two thousand staff is also threatened by anarchy, property destruction, murder, assaults, and so forth. Not many would be inspired by a government more afraid of labour riots than financial ruin.
