"Eskom is blackmailing South Africans"

Eskom's repeated threat that it won't be able to keep South Africa's lights on if it does not get excessive tariff increases amounts to blackmail.

That view forms part of a submission by the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa), made during consultations with the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) in response to the power utility's latest tariff application.

On behalf of Eskom to all the De Ruyter fanboys and fangirls.

We shouldn't be looking at the Eskom increases and more on the guess work the municipalities do when they pass the increases onto us. The Eskom supply should be increased and not the municipality portion why would that need to be increased at the same rate as Eskom.
