Eskom's debt outlook switched to positive by Moody's for 1st time in 15 years

Moody’s Investors Service raised its outlook on Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd.’s debt ratings to positive for the first time since 2007 after South African Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana said that the government could take over a substantial portion of the power company’s debt.

Moody’s boosted the outlook from negative, signaling that the next ratings action may now be an upgrade instead of another downgrade.

As much as we hate it, De Ruyter is actively focussing on the companies finances, even at the expense of more loadshedding.
exactly, regardless of how good you are operationally, you cant run it if it has no money .. money buys you the opportunity to improve operations

I think he is trying to do both, but the finances are where we are seeing the "immediate" gains with an improving financial position, which in theory will allow more breathing room in the near future for operational improvements.

Thats how you get a business out of the red....

I think that there are people who would see Eskom burnt to the ground as though we would win some kind of prize for that.

But the sooner Eskom is dead and buried the sooner we can start work on Eskom 2.0

The numbers tell a story as to how well he is doing at stemming the flow of gravy. This is why some circles can't stop complaining. I reckon if you want to see the bad eggs, look at the de Ruyter detractors in political circles.
