The minister in the Presidency for electricity, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, says the end of load-shedding is "within touching distance".

This is after Eskom achieved an Energy Availability Factor (EAF) of 65.5% on Wednesday.

While this is good news, we're back to measuring EAF as if it's a spot measure when that doesn't give a great indicator of overall system health. It needs to be stable or going up over an extended period of time like 6 months or so.

Nah 65% largely ends load shedding as we can see, but it doesn't give enough room to breathe properly.

People who have no understanding of how it works, EAF has no correlation with the diesel, but if they really wanted to, they could just go check themselves.
