How Eskom's generating capacity was destroyed

Eskom's power plant fleet is performing at its worst level ever, and there appears to be nothing the utility can do about it until government speeds up power procurement.

One of the best indicators of Eskom's overall plant performance, and the severity of load-shedding required to prevent a national blackout, is its Energy Availability Factor (EAF).

Isn't there a law for (or against) national security/terrorism to punish those?
Oh, wait, not in SA.

Remember what we said when they shunted the whites out so they could establish their BEE flagship?

We were even called racist for predicting this exact scenario.

How now brown cow?

Nobody mentioned the disastrous impact of BEE where Eskom got rid of thousands of white experienced engineers, managers and project managers in favor of inexperienced people with inferior qualifications.

Cadre deployment also to blame. Viva ANC Viva!
Two of my extended family were caught up in that. Each with 20+ years of experience at Eskom, a mechanical engineer and an electrical engineer, retrenched in the "transformation" wave. They work in a north African country now expanding their grid, welcomed with open arms and USD.

1. Steal diesel. 2. Sabotage generator. 3. Sell diesel to Eskom to manage load shedding.

But how much could they actually do in the face of crooked contractors and employees?

Things are so dire but why has Eskom/Govt not extended the subsidy on solar heating for water. Taking thousands of geysers substantially off the grid must be of some help.

Cause residential is only 20% of all demand.
