So..... A so called Company (Which it's not, Escom=Gov SOE) who can't provide power, want an increase? (Escom SOE want a Municipality (SOE), to pay for power), which people (Masses) don't pay. If a Waterboard (SOE) want Municipality (SOE) to pay for water, which residents don't. If they are all Gov, how can you owe yourself money? Maybe I'm wrong, but it just doesn't make any sense.

Ummm, I think the cold wherever you are has addled your brain.

Just because its an SOE, doesn't mean its not a company, and your example of a waterboard wanting a municipality to pay, its not government paying government.... its 2 separate legal entities paying each other for services/product rendered. Its pretty damned standard all over the world.

Is the difference between 27.8% and 20.5% that black tax thing we keep hearing about?

Eskom is full of k*k. They are in huge debt due their own doing, now want the customers to pay up to help out with their k*k situation.

Sad thing is they will eventually get their way, we are forced to use their electricity. I hope CoCT can build power stations to get us off their kak grid. I would rather pay more to CoCT than wasteful Eskom

Why Eskom is fighting for a 20.5% price increase

Eskom will have to ask for more government bailouts if it does not get the "cost-reflective" 20.5% electricity tariff increase it is seeking for the next financial year.

That was the gist of the state-owned power utility's written response to a question in Parliament from IFP MP Elphas Buthelezi.
Holding a country to ransom is not shielding you bunch of incompetent morons.
