Aside from one small occasion, I've had at least a hundred successful, convenient, and efficient transactions with them. ( One or two over R40k )

It's nice to know that I've got a guy I can call if I need something sourced, or a price check for a friend.

Edit: On one occasion, after a hard disk had failed, my favorite sales guy ( You know who you are <3 ) stayed late for me and waited for me to arrive so that I could collect a new one. That's amazing service, and I will always be thankful for the relationship that I've got with Esquire as a company, and him as a friend.

I know they've peeved some people off, and there are probably reasons on both sides that the relationship has soured - But you can't expect a community like myBB to not have issues with a distributor level supplier. Not everyone is their target market, and there's a good reason that other suppliers don't deal direct with the end users - Preferring to give up the extra profit that selling to the masses brings, in favor of not having to deal with the masses.

Well at least they still have suckups like you to deal with .. you're either the typical 'it doesn't affect me so lets be a douchebag towards the ones it does affect', or an employee trying to offset the negative sentiment in this thread. Either way your ignorance is as nauseating as your arrogance.

Same experience from my side.

I originally planned to open a business account with them but the mybb account was just 10x simpler to do and been using it for years with hardly a glitch.
I find the sales reps go out of their way to assist.

I am not going to try and be judge or jury on this as it seems to me that the issues are certainly not all Esquires fault.

I don't discriminate. If they have it cheaper I buy from them, if not I go elsewhere. Simple as that.
At some point you have to be a conscious buyer and dish out a little bit more $$$ to support the companies that don't have such questionable ways of doing things.

Same here! Been a few instances that I have had lightning take out routers, servers, hard drives, ect..

Cannot think of a single problem I had with Esquire, infact one time they didn't have stock of a product I ordered (and paid for) so they sold me the next level up at cost price.

Have had exactly the same experience with them on more than one occasion :)

Hello All

The reason for the deletion of accounts is for the following reasons only it has nothing to with storage space or the database as implied by some.

1)We have deleted accounts from negative comments made on the forum from MyBB members that have never purchase from us or never had an issue and yet continue to mud-sling irrespective.

2)Accounts that have very little trade or no trade are deleted when we require that account number(s) for new applications, as we get over 50+ applications (sometimes even more) per day to create and are running out of account numbers

3)This a standard practise with all distributors in South Africa to deactivate and delete non-active accounts, -

And here is why we are running out of account Numbers
Our financial system only allows for 6 alphanumeric characters as an account number and we have a system in place to create accounts in the following sequence to distinguish between customers in different regions
Example if your account number was ABCT01 (the 01 denotes that your account was in Gauteng) ABCT02 denotes creditors , ABCT03 denotes KZN …………Etc.

YYYY01 (the 01 denotes customers is Gauteng and surrounding areas)
YYYY02 (the 02 denotes local creditors and overseas creditors)
YYYY03 (the 03 denotes customers in KZN and surrounding areas)
YYYY04 (the 04 denotes customers in western Cape and surrounding areas)
YYYY05 (the 05 denotes customers in eastern Cape and surrounding areas)
YYYY06 (the 06 denotes customers in other areas where we do not have branches and also for our export customers in SADC countries)
YYYY07 (the 07 denotes rebates and invoices to vendors for marketing purposes
YYYY08 (the 08 denotes Mass Retail and Chain Stores)
YYYY09 (the 09 denotes Religious places like Churches, Mosques, Temples etc. and under privileged Non Profit Organisation’s that get extremely special pricing from us)

We have been deleting or deactivating accounts for the past 5 years now once we saw we were running out of accounts numbers to create and do this every year at Financial year-end and from time to time when we pull a activity report .

We have deleted over 200 “Non active” from over 14000 registered accounts .Not only MyBB accounts but also clients that has not bought in three to six months and longer.

Our suggestion is to purchase those items from one of our over 400 VRN Online e-commerce stores or on another MyBB members account.

Unlike other distributors our systems are linked to all branches , so you can use a Gauteng account number and purchase in Port Elizabeth and vice versa.

We are busy in the process of creating a VRN portal called www.priceguru.co.za (beta phase)that will list the products we have in stock and a list of VRN resellers that have them on their site.

If I can be of any assistance please feel free to PM me anytime

As always if you have any issues I am always here on the MyBB forum to assist , a PM to me and I can take action to resolve like I have done for many on the forum

Best regards
ESQ

EDIT: @IzZzy: I have check our records , you have never registered your account as a MyBB account e.g. IzZzy-MyBB therefore your account must have been one of the 200 that was deleted as there was no activity on that account it had nothing to do with any comments

You should have just left it at numbers 2 and 3.No need to confirm what we all knew was happening...

You not seen some of the threads where people jump on bandwagons based on hearsay, search for Esquire in the Hardware section. There are lots of them.

Thanks for the fairly detailed explanation. I'm sure others will point out flaws etc, but it's helpful nonetheless. My account was registered as a myBB account (or at least it should have been) under IZZ01. Granted I didn't use it often, but did all my big purchases on it (granted not big to you) such as my RAT, my IPS screen, chip etc.

That said, I thought the point of the COD account was that it wasn't a normal reseller account which pulls through volumes of trade and which requires credit lines etc, but rather one for us special people ;)

Can I propose myBB members makes use of a single COD account? Would be a win/win for all.

That is how it originally worked in the beginning... a single COD account using MyBB as a reference... and then the current tool-of-spite was brain-farted.

Wouldn't that create more of a warranty/return headache?

100% correct it created havoc when we did credit notes that is why we opted to create individual accounts

You need to understand we are a distributor not a retailer , anyone in retail will tell you that it is totally different system , I know this as we started off as a small retailer back in 90’s and listed the company on JSE in 1998 and sold the listed entity end of 1999

To cut the story short all we asking is to keep your account active is to purchase at least once a month , no need for big items even small items so when we pull a activity report it does not come up as non-active

We have made this very clear on the email you received from our accounts department with your account details it is Clause no 7 which we reviewed and change to 6 months as it was 3 months previously

Previous
7)Please Note that your account will be reviewed after 3 months, and if not met by Management Satisfaction your account will be closed.

Now
7)Please Note that your account will be reviewed after 6 months, and if not met by Management Satisfaction your account will be suspended or closed

You are correct it was deleted due to Non Activity as the last trade was 16/07/2013 over six months of no trade

Your account number was allocated to another client after that

Why not close all MyBB linked accounts? then you can stop spamming this forum and members can buy from where they want, even from your VR's if they can beat the prices and warranties of Game, Makro incredible, etc where warranty and returns claims are not a huge issue and fight all the time;)

Talk of idiots shooting themselves in the feet.

What about those accounts you deleted because they took you to task for homophobic comments?
