I'm still offended that we even need a passport to go to Namibia, never mind Lesotho and Swaziland

You still consider Namibia a part of SA?

Also, Zanzibar is part of Tanzania which is an AU member and Morocco has re-applied for AU membership.

She said the new model of requiring member states to contribute 0.2% of their import levies to the body would bring it a “step closer to dignity”.

I do not know how to put that into context… so, this 0,2% is contributed to the AU, additional to the said contribution by donors. What is the AU planning to do with this 0,2%, rescue Zimbabwe?

The passport also aims to facilitate the free movement of Africans, who the AU believes are still being separated by colonial-era borders.

Wait now... am I also eligible? I am here due to people exploring the horizon.

The passport is initially only going to be processed for AU dignitaries and officials, though the ultimate aim is for it to be made available for all Africans.

Ah, the Rome Statute and all that :whistling:

I agree that there will be problems, people without borders... SA is hardly capable to address her own poverty issues, expect excess baggage. It is crazy, but this will drive the country back to Pass Law.

I don't think the locals will like that...burning foreigners alive seems pretty popular every now & again.
