this one shocked me more than hearing for the first time that Shane Warne is a singer

Why you shocked:confused:

They aren't sincere. Just look at their track record.:(

Surely people can't still fall for this kind of thing.

What, do you think he's just joking?

It is certainly a gesture more than PW himself would have (or ever) extended to the ANC.

Of course, its damned if you do and damned if you don't in this crowd.

Im still surprised when people ask a good question and think there is a chance in hell angelo will reply :D

No offense at you jontyB :)

None taken :)

I think we are becoming more and more convinced that the government's inability (or unwillingness) to actually communicate with people is squarely cloned in Angelo :D

Ummm No

You really think they do this out of the goodness of their heart. For example it's political cover for the next racial discriminatory policy they introduce.

Damn straight. ;)

I'd prefer that they be honest. After all the things he did and the hatred they have for him. They give him a dignified "send off".

Spoken like a true leader of a nation !

"While to many, Mr Botha will remain a symbol of apartheid, we also remember him for the steps he took to pave the way towards the eventual peacefully negotiated settlement in our country," Mandela said in a statement.

Botha was a symbol both of the country's dark past but of also of how far it had progressed since 1994, said Mandela.

"The passing of Mr Botha should serve to remind us not only our horribly divided past, but also of how South Africans from all persuasions ultimately came together to save our country from self-destruction."

Okay. Wasn't thinking.

However I am sure he was still involved.

No doubt he was orchestrating everything from within Victor Verster and those conjugal visits with Winnie were actually strategy sessions.

Also the prison authorities were no doubt letting him send all those letters with instructions on what next should be done.

Ah actually Mandela only moved to Victor Verster much later, so that probably happened on Robben Island or Pollsmoor.

EDIT: Not the YouTube clip but the previous post obv. The comments under that clip had me in stitches. I especially like the Jews are not whites argument.

I hate to be picky but Shane Warne is not a singer.

Shayne Ward is a singer. I know how much you hate little things like facts and research though :D.

In regard to this thread someone asked not to insult PW in this thread. So no comment apart from that he needs to be given credit for starting dialogue with the ANC.

A lot of people on this forum like to place me in the liberal league or ANC team. I don't currently support any of the political parties as they are all corrupt and none of them do anything useful. Currently I feel the ANC are doing the most (but they are in power so what can you really expect).

I didn't like the man (PW) but noone is completely evil and he did do some good. I am not sorry to see his passing though, he should have joined all the other ex Nats in the TRC. But what is done is done.

Did anybody opening this thread, even for one second think that it would be a RIP thread and not turn into a racial bitching session?

RIP PW. God has blessed you to have been 90 years on earth. Also so you could have made peace with Him, which is the only thing that really matters in the end.

I agree with this post,Which is logical to me,All that matters is to make peace
My mother and father suffered 1970 and 80's,but always told me to forgive.
rip in peace,
A quote by pw"i outlivedthe barstards"when the question was asked about his oposiition partys in the 80's,I think that quote from him was funny

DA Black Mark (?) DA Supporter :D

Look, PW was a hard nut. He frightened everybody, even people watching him from overseas. He suppressed the English speaking white people too (everyone conveniently forgets that  ).

I don't hold a grudge with the guy. He was a politician, just like Mandela, Sisulu, Tambo except they were intent on blowing things up to gain power. Botha was intent on teargassing and arresting people to hold power. I see little difference. As I said when Mandela vreks we should remember his whole life and not just the rosy period, but without insulting his grave.
