Having your finger cut off by your partner is abuse. Just because he didn't claim to suffer PTSD or other mental health issues, doesn't mean the physical abuse didn't happen. Which is why both sides had medical experts on in the case to testify about that particular injury.

It is might as well also have been a tactical decision to only talk about the physical abuse Heard inflicted on Depp, rather than any psychological abuse. Physical abuse, when it happens leaves mountains of evidence, like a severed finger. Psychological abuse does not. Depp's team focussed on what they could prove.

Had Amber Heard made a similar tactical decision to only focus on the psychological abuse that might have occurred, her defamation claim would have been extremely difficult to disprove and she would have won. I suspect that this is something a previous legal team probably suggested to her, but she didn't want anything to do with it, which is why she settled on a more incompetent team.

Now I stand to be corrected here, but unless you provide the document that states that Amber Heard's interrogatories happened to be the same number as Depp's team, I am calling B.S on the Daily Beast.
Specifically, what you are looking for is a motion to compel Depp to answer those questions that were raised in the Daily Beast's article. I couldn't find anything like that before the date of Depp's team's motion to compel.

I take a very dim view to using sexual assault allegations (and fake abuse allegations) for personal gain. Heard even stole another women's sexual assault story to play the victim.
