Umm, yes. That's correct.

They've basically stated, unofficially, that he isn't going to chase her for the money. But if she continues to pursue this fallacy then he'll probably take her to the cleaners again.

Her $7m divorce settlement is more than she's made from her movies, or close enough anyway, so she's made some decent coin from this relationship (right up until she lost $8.35m + lawyer's fees anyway).

Personally I hope she does appeal, if she even can at this point. I'm not super optimistic though, not after the treatment she got at the hands of the US system up to this point.

Also, the pledge cannot be counted because as Ms. Vasquez taught her, pledges are not donations.

They are literally synonyms

Appealing would be stupid, given the law has acted correctly thus far and likely will in future.

As for your synonyms, have you ever considered using a dictionary and not talking out your *******?

It's right there in the text - he DONATED a PLEDGE - there was an original commitment to give money, followed up by the act of giving money.

A pledge remains a pledge right up until the moment the money is paid, at which point it becomes a donation.

Just FYI everyone - she stated that she had "DONATED", as in - past tense. As in, she had already given the money.

I mean yeah it is right there in the past tense as well. What's your point? I "bought a house" but I'm still "paying off the house".

Lol it's exactly the same thing as Depp's "Donation/pledge". There is absolutely no difference. This is ridiculous.

That's not how it works. You're just quoting her idiocy at this point :D

She pledged the money (even though she stated under oath on multiple occasions that she had donated it which is patently false and opens her up to charges of perjury). She then waited 13 months without paying it (how long should you able to not pay your commitments for? It's absurd) and then claimed she couldn't pay because Depp took her to court (13 months later).

The whole argument turns around whether 'Pledge' and 'donate' can be used interchangeably. They absolutely can and are, and johnny depp himself used it that way.

Well, the difference is he gave the money, making it a donation. She gave sweet f-all besides Musk's money which she stated didn't count as part of her contribution. So she hasn't fulfilled her obligation though she strutted around like this benevolent benefactor.

God you're a very stupid smart person.

They absolutely cannot, in the same way that "going to Cape Town" and "I am in Cape Town" are not the same thing. One is a promise of payment, the other is an actual payment.

Would you prefer your salary to be promised, or to be paid?

I can’t imagine how that statement could possibly be more wrong. She was cross-examined for 3 days. All her evidence was scrutinised and each individual claim was judged. The judge ruled that she had reason to fear for her life.

You ignore everything presented to you, and then focus on one little bit to continue with your obtuseness.

Obviously the judge believed her lies; in the US trial these lies were exposed and she was shown to be a dishonest bitch. Get over it.

She never claimed to have paid it in full. She only said she had donated the money. Big money donations do generally happen in the form of pledges. You were the one who claimed that they were not interchangeable and now you're shifting the rules to gripe about the manner in which she paid it, which is not honest.

Question - do you or did you ever follow Amber on Twitter/Instagram/any other social media platform?

Oh hell no. Who is Amber Heard to me? She's an obscure actress and I've never seen any of her films. Not even Aquaman.

Both of those you are still paying…
She didn’t pay at all.
I want to buy a house
I bought a house
.

And then she said: I shouldn’t have had to pledge the entirety of money to be believed..

Well no , you didn’t and nobody asked you volunteered.

Grasping.

Actually no, they're not the same thing at all.

You bought a house from X person, and that person was paid... you then entered into a contract with a different party to finance the amount of money paid for the house.
