What do you think when you see a woman with a broken nose and a black eye who says she got beat up by her partner? You think well she could have just bumped into a piece of furniture, it's consistent with abuse but that doesn't prove it's abuse? She took those photos immediately before or after times that she reported abuse. If you think she was deliberately self-harming, I mean.. think whatever you want I guess. It's gonna be hard by your standards for anybody to come forward about their abuse though.

I don't think that she was deliberately self-harming, except for the cuts on her arms, which is a common form of self-mutilation amongst people with borderline personality disorder.

My belief is that over the years, she took photographs of her injuries for her own records (e.g. after plastic surgery procedures) or to share with friends ("wow, look at the bruise on my arm"). As her marriage went sour, she decided to use these against Johnny by accusing him of abuse. I have no concrete evidence for this, hence why I say that I "believe" it, rather than "think" it, but I have seen first-hand how scheming and manipulating people with cluster B personality disorders can be.

Perhaps she reported abuse to her friends and therapists, but then, why did she never seek medical treatment for this abuse? For example, she claims that Johnny had raped her with a broken bottle and she bled from the injuries sustained, yet she never sought medical treatment for this. She believed that Johnny broke her nose on more than one occasion, yet she never sought medical treatment. Her looks are a major asset of hers so I would have thought that she would have consulted with a doctor if she believed that her nose had been broken. If one's nose is broken and the nasal bone is not correctly set, there is a risk of having a deformed nose afterwards.

Except Amber didn't have those. Low quality pictures with bad lighting don't count as evidence of a black eye or a broken nose. Just like low quality pictures with bad lighting don't count as evidence of the existence of ghosts or UFO's.

If she had a broken nose she would have gone to a doctor.

Everything you're saying is just a regurgitation of popular misconceptions about abuse victims. Why don't they report their sexual abuse? Why do they wear makeup to cover it up? etc etc. It's all covered in this thread.

Also - and more to the point - you're completely overlooking the fact that Depp admitted to the abuse, many times. He admitted that he headbutted her, that they were violent towards each other, he admitted that he was the main perpetrator of the physical abuse. It's all there in his own words in black and white, or recorded. He's recorded abusing her emotionally, putting cigarettes out on her, destroying furniture and throwing her phone at the wall, howling in a drunken stupor, scrawling obscenities about her on the wall with a severed finger. She accused him of beating her up and he never denies it to her. She tells him she was afraid for her life and he never denies it.

There is so much more to this than the photos. The photos are just more corroborations of the big picture.

I didn't know Johnny Depp personally paid the police officers. Or Amber's therapist. Or Amber's witnesses who sunk her case. Or her lawyers. Or Kate Moss. Or her ex-girlfriend who she attacked. Or the guard who witnessed it.

Dude has deep pockets man, orchestrated an entire court case and paid for everybody. All she had to do was provide evidence bit lazy on her part not to show up to the party when he already paid for everything.

As a counterexample, the owner of the trailer park, who was not dependent on Johnny in any way, testified that he saw Johnny cowering from Amber during a verbal altercation. Why was Amber not able to produce a witness for the incident at the trailer park where she claimed that Johnny had aggressively grabbed her friend by the wrist?

Amber claims that she was in fear of her life, yet there are recordings of her mocking and insulting Johnny. She proceeded to contact Johnny after having gotten a restraining order against him, which also seems strange.
