I'm considering getting one. I have endless problems trying to get stereo (or even just both channels) when connecting my iPod to my car radio, and was wondering if this would work as a solution for listening to my iPod in the car. But what I want to know (before I buy it) is:

1) Is the volume good enough to hear over car's engine?
and 2) How does it connect to the device? Does it have a built in cable with a stereo headphone jack on the end, or do I need to use my own cable?

This is the kinds of stuff you buy in verimark. For that price i don't see anything worthwhile. Maybe its good but i will never know

Can you suggest any alternatives? I really just want a cheap, small speaker that I can connect to my iPod. I don't need the sound quality of a Bose SoundDock, nor do I want anything that big!

Not really, don't own an iPod. But hey if people can satisfy your questions then go for it. I personally wouldn't get anything like it but does not mean its worth a pass. Best i would've said as an alternative is an iTrip but from the sounds of things, you got one and having problems with the sound coming out from the deck.

Ok I tested it and the sounds is rather impressive and very clear! It has a normal jack, charges via usb (battery life=3-5 hours), and you would hear it above a 6 litre v8 engine(when your in the car by the way).

Nah, I don't have a tape deck in my car radio - it does have a 3.5mm jack auxillary input, but either it only plays the left channel, or I've had really bad luck with buying cables that all happen to have a broken wire on the right channel :(

Cool, maybe I'll get one of them then. So it has a built in cable, I don't have to use one of my potentially dodgy ones?

The cable isn't built in but you get one with it and I tested on a IPOD classic 80gb and it works really good (the speaker also has three bass settings built in and when opening the "shock" feature the sound really does improve)

Okay, that sounds good! I'll have to look out for them and pick one up next time I see them. Thanks for the feedback.

Ok just remember ask if you can test a demo first because your opinion might differ from mine.
