Many South Africans are opting for lifestyles estates for security reasons only to find that basic broadband services are not available, but this is far from a uniquely South African problem. Seems that high flyers in Australia who fork out around Aus $550,000 (R 3,3 million) for a home in these estates are also faced with the same dilemma.

HAHAHA ... I've had the experience first hand ... move into the Estate, advertised Broadband 24/7 all over the show. My VPNs could barely connect, and when I took them on about it, I found out there was a 64k diginet line for about 40 subscribers  Broadband my left testicle ... I sent them the ICASA definition of broadband and threatened with ASA about their advertising ... about a year ago I wanted to look at their new packages, and the guy had the balls to actually tell me they give priority to packets from the people who stuck with them initially ... I almost had a heart attach right there :D
