Just get a secondhand blazer and buy the rest from PEP stores / PNP cloting etc. Problem solved.

Doesn't work like that, a lot of schools have different coloured shirts, you also have to have a badge on the pocket (the iron on or stitch on badges cost R50 to R100), sometimes the schools have different coloured pants like navy or khaki.
Then it comes down to jerseys, swimming gear, towels, caps and and and.

Honestly, with all the fees schools are charging these days and all these "Pay X for Y benefit days"... School uniforms is the least of your problems...

That's crazy. Glad I didn't have that.

Or send them to a normal school.

Mainly just uniform, blazer, tie and socks.
Obviously the sportswear is once every other year so that's no biggy.

That is a normal school :p. Also sportswear isn't every other year, you do know kids grow right? Also they require a PE uniform and a separate uniform for the sports they play, so they can't wear their PE uniform if they do cricket for example.

Glad to see you took my advice from the Bad Advice thread
Saw it, and had no comeback to that. I actually have 5 that I know of. Only 4 thought I take care of... And who knows, might knock this redhead up too. Wonder if I still have it in me to be a daddy at 43...

True,

Mine are slow growers though. Laaitie luckily decided to quit sports. Growing like a caterpillar... Would probably have to have replaced his sportswear twice a season. Strange how sons grow. Short chubby little shyte. Then all of a sudden, taller than me, zero body fat and the feet of a bigfoot...

Sure, was just an example. If schools are set on uniformity then just have generic colours. Casual clothes are also more comfortable to work in. As you said the other kids will in any event know who's better off based on the condition of uniforms...

I’m actually all for the uniformity but get off this stiff upper lip dress up kak that is uncomfortable for everyone.

Let the kids wear their sports clothes all day every day. It’s cheaper and more comfortable and there is no need to go change in between as well.

Let them wear whatever shoes in a matching colour and call it a day.

I too actually support uniforms.

There are just way too many kids who can't afford clothes of luxury brands. Knowing what kids were like when I was at school... I can only imagine what today's kids would be like. SAVAGE!

It seems different now compared to when we were kids, sure there are still some kids who are obsessed with brands, but most kids don't really seem to care about clothes. It's more tech now
