Registration has been around for a while too. -
Whois dates:

created: 1990-11-07
changed: 2020-01-15

Will have a look at the company registrar site see if it matches. The registration is 2018 though (allegedly) and the site was registered in 1990. And registrar details changed in 2020. So i suspect registered, in 1990, someone didn't pay, and scammer took over in 2020.
Or they jut changed to a new registrar that updated the date as per normal. Claiming a scammer took over since 2020 based on this information are irresponsible.

I have several posts in this thread on the first page where I do some due diligence, and I came to the conclusion its legit.
I also amended my first post in this thread to indicate that.

Some things are a bit iffy (addresses for example, as multiple sites use the same place, and its residential, not business) but ultimately checks out.

Again, I have found and gotten a few fake sites deleted - literally by doing the same process, then reporting scammers to their ISP, the registrar etc.
Successfully I might add, again all documented in past posts of mine.

So, no I won't apologise for doing due diligence for someone that asked.

Steps I will typically take to check out a site are:

- Check when it was registered.
- Who is it registered to.
- Are any of the details on the site iffy? (address/ CK number if any/ VAT number/ reviews)
- If I do a search for the address or other details, do other sites come up using the same info?
- Phone number is used for that site or multiple unrelated sites (same check as above...)
- Does the company have an internet history - i.e. on social media - if so, is there a good history of posts, and the odd comment
- google street view - does the address actually exist. Is it a residential address or a business?
- reviews - are they legit, or smell fake.

Often you can find scammer sites as they'll use the same information multiple times for multiple sites, mostly as they're lazy.

For this site in particular, two things were a bit iffy -
- The address used in the past, as it matches another non related business, and is residential.
- The reviews look a big dodgy. i.e. 5 star review, but the text says terrible company etc. (which is literally the case on some of the reviews on the website).

Overall though, enough info matches up, and there is enough of an online history to corroborate that yes, its a real business.

Any of the information I found is free to lookup online. VAT numbers can be checked at SARS. Company registrations at the Company Registrar, etc.
A search engine is a good tool for checking out related info.

They're legit.

Bought a R35k Victron inverter from them with 3-week lead time. They kept me up to date with shipping delays (transnet was striking).

PS: If you leave your items in your cart (while signed in), they eventually mail you a coupon, but then you must pay via EFT. You can save some change.

@DTBA Are these as good as the Blue Nova or do you get what you pay for? I've heard BN has a very safe battery technology and that matters to me because the batteries and inverter have to be located under a wooden staircase inside the house..

I have no clue, hey, I was wondering the same thing. I am scared to order one.

They say it has a better cycle life than Hubble.

I've ordered from them. They are legit but bad with communication.

In my particular case they didn't ship my order out as they were still waiting for an item, it would have helped if they told me this, or at least responded faster when I eventually asked. But they have good prices, so it's a trade off. (I suspect they keep prices low by having a too small admin team, hence some issues)
Looks like a family business, that is always the trouble, it's sometimes run like a household, people are allowed to be in a bad mood and do their job half heartedly.

just ask them if the battery is self extinguishing .it should be for home use .otherwise a big metal box in the middle of the garden .

@soulie "... big metal box in the middle of the garden ...":ROFL:

Well, I pulled the trigger on the Blue Nova's. I'm too tired and impatient for any more research. Will report back on the service. Have been promised two to five working days for delivery

blue nova has a top product .(just keep a big bucket of sand and a flashlight by the kitchen door )

I purchased a Blue Nova lithium battery from them recently. Showed up on time, no problems.

The batteries arrived in two working days. Very happy
Hi There

I'm also looking at getting some of these Linergy batteries.
What batteries did you get?
Series/Parallel 12/24V?
What inverter are you using and if you have some feedback on how they are performing so far? :)

Tnx

I went with Blue Nova in the end. They are more expensive but supposed to be safer. And the only place I can place them is under a wooden staircase inside the house..

So, no idea about the Linergy :(

I ordered a geyserwise from this website. I wasn't in a hurry, but I don't remember having an issue. Their customer service was responsive enough.

Is Livestainable staffed by real people or is it all AI? Their product descriptions are often AI waffle by the looks of it.

And I'm not sure a human is checking the AI web designer's work. Spot the hallucinations:

As an aside, what's people's recent experience been like? I got an order that shipped in a day and another that's gone nowhere for a week.

I had two positive experiences in the past week, can't complain. I have already told them twice that the shipment fee on the website is R115, while when paying it is R90. Nothing gets changed.
