Experiencing slow BlackBerry Internet? RIM SA says there's no problem

Omfw this article just pisses me off. BIS is fsking slow on everyone's BB. Bis is non-existant. This page just took 2mins to load.
 
Like seriously now Alexandra Zagur, why not take all 3G blackberry devices currentl available in the market - put all different sim cards in each(Cell C,8ta,Vodacom and MTN). There is a performance problem with BIS infrastructure in South Africa either the SP are throttling all users cos only after 11pm you able to make use of BIS surf etc or its oversubscribed.

Ridiculous and unacceptable.
I won't support the vendor anymore.


Instead of routing all traffic to London please get local servers in South Africa.

They making a killing with BIS subscription

geez.....you think you dont have a problem.....i bet most of those high ranking people in RIM SA dont even use blackberry. My internet on my blackberry moves slower than my nick name allows it to move.......

How is BB10 going to help?
BB has a dedicated APN to run its traffic, its the compression and security, that causes the problem, but its also its asset.
 
RIM are making the assumption that they will still be in business to actually launch BB 10!

It still amazes me that RIM produce HSPA handsets and then run BIS on 384K 3G. I really can't see that BB 10 will fix the speed issue if the service itself is throttled in this way.
 
It happens when all you internet traffic to your phone needs to go via Europe/Canada.
 
Also had to wait 10 minutes for a message to send last night. I wish RIM a slow and painful demise.

EDIT: Make that a quick demise.
 
What a load of cr@p. BIS is incredibly slow. There are the odd days out like yesterday where i could download at speeds of over 100 kbps. Not sure if it has been sorted but over the last month, it was so horrible.
 
Well from my experience with a Curve 9300 on 8ta the speeds are fine the only problem I am experiencing is with the browser which is beyond crap so I can understand why she is referring to BB10 as the browser on those phones would then be brought up to current standards I assume.
 
Wow, these statements are lies.

I ditched BB after 6 months and two phones because I was sick not being able to browse the internet (on any browser). Now Android phone and lightening fast.

Since leaving Vodacom my browsing speeds have increased dramatically - my edge speeds surpass anything I was getting on 3G. I was all set to ditch blackberry after nearly a decade and get an iPhone but for now I'm content.
 
Hope you are not referring about HTC... They're in trouble with 43% slump in sales.
The only other big android seller is Samsung's S3.

Which network are you guys on?
I’m on CellC and don’t find it slow, well in defence, I’ve upgraded from 8520 to 9360 which has 3G so many that’s why I find it super-fast, But I do think it is actually very fast, and had no issues. Is there anybody here that say their CellC BIS is slow?

I'd like to hear.

Cant wait to get out my BB contract. The internet speeds are useless!
 
How the hell does that help?!

Its not useful to say that the new os will improve browsing speed, etc when it will only work on the newes blackberry phones.

Meanwhile I'm still stuck on os6 with no way to upgrade my software, and even if I did, it wouldn't help my browsing speeds.

Fail blackberry.
